Questa Food Pantry Boxes Help Neighbors in Need

  • Local Champion: Questa Independent School District
  • Date Funded: March 1, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $950

Many in the Questa community experience food insecurity and don’t have access to hygiene supplies and other items. When one resident, a local teacher, became aware of this problem, she wanted to help. She approached the LOR Foundation with an idea to build food pantry boxes where residents can donate food and supplies and others can take what they might need. With LOR’s help, several boxes are being built around town—at Living Word Ministries, Perovich Park, and elsewhere—and will be available for community members by the spring. LOR’s funding helped purchase lumber and hardware, as well as initial items to stock the pantry boxes.
