Safer Training Equipment Opens Possibilities for Buffalo Gymnasts

Summit Gymnastics has served Buffalo youth since 2005, offering recreational, developmental, and competitive programs to 75–100 athletes each year. Since much of the program’s equipment has been used by generations of local gymnasts, it’s showing its age, creating concerns in a sport where safe and dependable equipment is essential. Recognizing this problem, one of the program’s directors reached out to LOR with a solution: purchase updated mats, padding, and training equipment to give Buffalo gymnasts a safer, more functional environment. LOR’s funding will help Summit Gymnastics purchase landing and practice mats, skill-development and instructional equipment, protective wall padding, and mat-care supplies. The new equipment will replace aging pieces before they become a greater safety concern, giving coaches more flexibility to structure their practices across skill levels, and ensuring every athlete has what they need to learn and progress safely.
