Kids in Libby Get Hands On Experience With Mobile Cattle Chute

  • Local Champion: South 40 4-H Club
  • Date Funded: April 10, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $12,300

Many Libby youth are interested in agriculture, but working with livestock can be dangerous because, among other reasons, cows are huge. This means kids don’t get as much hands-on experience with veterinary procedures, weighing, and training to show cattle. The leader of the South 40 4-H club had this problem in mind when she reached out to the LOR Foundation—and with LOR’s help the organization was able to purchase a mobile cattle chute that will allow Libby kids to broaden their exposure and experience by safely securing cattle for a variety of procedures.
