Backboard Wraps Beautify a Buffalo Basketball Court and Inspire Student Creativity

The outdoor basketball courts at Buffalo’s Clear Creek Middle School are deteriorating, a problem a counselor and art teacher thought the school could solve by tapping into students’ creativity. Their idea? Work with students to design colorful wraps for six basketball backboards. They reached out to LOR for help getting the project up and running. LOR’s funding will help Clear Creek Middle School hire a vendor to print and install the wraps, and will cover new basketballs and nets. Students will create original designs, see their work digitized and produced by a local business, and participate in a field trip to observe how art connects to real-world commercial applications. The completed backboards will give students a tangible example of their creative contributions, fostering broader engagement while creating a vibrant outdoor space that the entire school can enjoy.
