Windscreens Extend the Playing Season at Cortez Pickleball Courts

High winds throughout much of the year make it difficult for Cortez residents to consistently use the city’s popular pickleball courts, forcing players indoors and limiting access to the growing sport. Members of the Cortez Pickleball Club have long wanted to ensure year-round play, so they came up with a solution. LOR’s funding helped the Cortez Pickleball Club purchase and install windscreens around the city’s courts, creating more protected playing conditions throughout the year. The improvements will not only help to grow the sport locally, but they will also free up indoor gym space at the local recreation center during colder months.
