Radio Upgrades Strengthen Police Communication in Questa

  • Local Champion: Village of Questa
  • Date Funded: March 6, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $8,898

The Village of Questa Police Department lacked communication equipment that met state standards following the department’s reinstatement in 2022, limiting officer coordination and delaying emergency response in ways that impact public safety.

When the new police chief recognized that upgrading radios to meet these standards was critical, he reached out to LOR for support.

LOR’s funding will help the Village of Questa Police Department purchase six portable and two mobile radios, along with programming, chargers, and accessories, to ensure seamless, state-compliant communication.

This essential equipment will enable reliable communication across Questa’s mountainous terrain while strengthening coordination with Taos County dispatch and neighboring jurisdictions—improving both officer safety and emergency response for the community.
