Water Rescuers in Weiser Get an Important Equipment Upgrade

  • Local Champion: Weiser City Police Department
  • Date Funded: December 19, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $9,396

Weiser residents live, recreate, and travel at the confluence of two rivers, a local reservoir, and several other bodies of water. But within a 60-mile radius there are few trained rescue divers with proper all-weather gear. One sergeant at the Weiser Police Department has been working to get certified to provide underwater services, but he’s been largely relying on his personal dive equipment which is expiring. To address this problem, the department reached out to the LOR Foundation, and with LOR’s help they will purchase dive equipment for use in all seasons to enhance the safety of the community.
