Strategic AED Placement Strengthens Emergency Response Across Lander

  • Local Champion: Fremont County Pioneer Museum
  • Date Funded: April 11, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $10,928

In Fremont County, where ambulance response times can stretch to 45 minutes and funding the service faces ongoing challenges, Lander residents have growing concerns about emergency medical care. After noticing how many community gathering spaces lacked potentially life-saving automated external defibrillators (AEDs), the site manager of the Fremont County Pioneer Museum reached out to LOR with an idea: secure additional equipment and training to increase immediate cardiac emergency response. LOR’s funding will help purchase six AED machines, protective cabinets, signage, and training for staff at key locations including the Lander Library, LOTRA’s riding arena, the Golf Clubhouse, the Museum, the Livery Stable, and Wind River Dojo. This initiative provides immediate cardiac emergency response capability in high-traffic areas across Lander, giving residents peace of mind and creating a critical bridge in those crucial minutes before emergency services can arrive.
