Storage Repairs Supports Outdoor Learning in Questa

  • Local Champion: Roots and Wings Community School
  • Date Funded: January 26, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $12,137

Questa students participating in experiential learning activities could not safely access much of their outdoor equipment due to an unsafe storage area, which limited hands-on opportunities and prevented students from learning proper care and maintenance of educational tools.

When teachers at Roots and Wings recognized how this storage problem reduced both safety and learning opportunities, they reached out to LOR with a solution to repair and organize the space.

LOR’s funding will help Roots and Wings Community School purchase organizational equipment, portable solar panels, flooring, and roofing materials to create a safe, functional storage area for outdoor learning gear. This improved space will enable students to learn equipment care and maintenance while making tools accessible to after-school programs and summer camps, strengthening experiential learning opportunities across multiple community programs.
