Robotics Equipment Expands STEM Opportunities for Libby Students

  • Local Champion: Libby K-12 Schools
  • Date Funded: March 10, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $12,143

Libby Middle High School’s robotics club has attracted enthusiastic students eager to develop technical skills, but they’ve been forced to create their competition robots using minimal donated parts and makeshift materials. When one dedicated student from the club saw how this equipment shortage limited their learning and competitive opportunities, she reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help the robotics club purchase a complete inventory of components, tools, and supplies needed to build and program competitive robots. The new equipment will not only help Libby students perform better at regional competitions but also allow the students to share their robotics knowledge with younger children in the community, fostering broader interest in STEM education.
