Library Carts Expand Libby Community Programs

  • Local Champion: Lincoln County Public Libraries Foundation
  • Date Funded: January 17, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $8,512

Libby’s public library serves as an important community space, convening community gatherings and hosting educational programs for residents. But aging equipment has made it increasingly difficult for library staff to meet the community’s growing needs. The library’s current chairs are unstable and hard to clean, while worn-out book carts slow down daily operations. Recognizing these challenges, one member of the Friends of the Libby Library, a branch of the Lincoln County Public Libraries Foundation, reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help Libby’s public library purchase new stackable chairs, library carts, and a food service cart, allowing the library to host more community events while improving daily operations for staff and visitors alike.
