Self-Regulation Stations Help Libby Students Regulate Their Emotions

  • Local Champion: Libby K-12 Schools
  • Date Funded: December 9, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $2,950

Libby Elementary School lacks a consistent space in each classroom where students can access tools and activities to help them manage their emotions, energy levels, and focus when feeling overwhelmed. To address the problem, the school had been holding meetings about positive behavior intervention and determined that self-regulation stations would help students develop personal coping mechanisms. To find support creating these areas, the district reached out to the LOR Foundation. As the school builds the stations, they will collect qualitative and quantitative data in an effort to decrease the number of students who need to be removed from the classroom.
