Keyboards Give Every Cortez Student a Chance to Practice

  • Local Champion: Montezuma-Cortez School District RE-1
  • Date Funded: November 21, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $4,000

Many of the electronic keyboards at Montezuma-Cortez High School have missing keys or have broken down entirely, forcing students to share and take turns practicing during piano class. When the school’s band director saw how sharing keyboards limited his students’ ability to learn, he reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help Montezuma-Cortez High School purchase ten new keyboards, ensuring every student has a working instrument to learn and practice during class.
