IPads Expand Dyslexia Screenings for Buffalo Kids

  • Local Champion: Learning Tree Christian School
  • Date Funded: August 13, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $2,145

Learning Tree Christian School is one of the few local centers providing dyslexia screening in Buffalo, but the school has fallen behind on the technology it needs to sustain its screening and intervention services. In need of support, one staff member reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help Learning Tree Christian School purchase five iPads to install and run the updated Barton Reading & Spelling System program. The investment will allow Learning Tree to serve more Buffalo residents with dyslexia—an estimated one in five Americans—ensuring that students who need the support can access it close to home.
