Furniture Makes A Cortez Community Space More Accessible

  • Local Champion: Hospice of Montezuma
  • Date Funded: October 24, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $4,000

Hospice of Montezuma’s community room serves as a vital gathering space for Cortez organizations, hosting local support groups, resource events, and other community meetings. However, the room’s outdated and heavy furniture makes it difficult for staff and volunteers to set up for different events, a problem Hospice of Montezuma’s board wanted to solve but couldn’t because of the group’s limited budget. When hospice staff saw an opportunity to purchase new furniture make the community room more accessible, they reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will help Hospice of Montezuma purchase 20 lightweight tables and 15 sets of chairs, allowing Cortez nonprofits to better utilize the free space.
