Free Summer Camp Expands Learning Opportunities for Questa Youth

  • Local Champion: Localogy
  • Date Funded: June 25, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $7,800

Local youth have limited access to affordable summer enrichment opportunities that offer hands-on learning, career exploration, and educational experiences beyond the classroom. Rising program costs can limit participation, creating barriers for families who cannot afford camp fees. When the Camp Director recognized that financial constraints were keeping local children from accessing quality summer programming, they reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will provide STEM kits, science experiment supplies, arts and crafts materials, environmental education resources, outdoor learning equipment, leadership and cultural learning materials, learning journals, educational workbooks, games, and safety supplies. Funding will also support travel reimbursement and materials for eight guest speakers—including local professionals, tradespeople, artists, cultural educators, first responders, health professionals, and conservation experts—as well as transportation for field trips, career exploration visits, and other community learning experiences. Together, these investments will keep the summer camp free for participating youth while expanding hands-on learning, introducing young people to local careers and community leaders, and strengthening family-to-community connections.
