Questa Residents Balance the Books With Financial Literacy Workshops

  • Local Champion: Kristi Gonzales Ministries INC
  • Date Funded: March 10, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $6,414

Some families in Questa have never been trained in financial literacy, and they don’t have access to resources or education about managing personal finances. When the pastor of a local church became aware of the problem, she reached out to Questa residents and realized there was serious need for creating personal finance courses. At least a dozen families were interested, so she contacted the LOR Foundation for help. And with LOR’s support she is able to offer a free course at the church for folks who may not have been able to take such a class without support. Throughout the year, three nine-week classes will be hosted—the first of which begins April 5.
