Event Supplies Bring Back Libby’s Beloved Loggers Days Celebration

  • Local Champion: Libby Schools Foundation
  • Date Funded: March 18, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $10,000

Libby hasn’t had its annual Loggers Days celebration in seven years, eroding community identity, youth opportunity, and early-season tourism. One member of the Libby Schools Foundation wanted to revive this beloved community tradition, so he reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help the Libby Schools Foundation and Rotary Club of Kootenai Valley purchase logging competition equipment including sawhorses, crosscut saws, safety gear, arena barriers, and a water tank. The equipment will enable community volunteers to revive Loggers Days as an annual event, celebrating Libby’s logging heritage while raising scholarship funds for local youth.
