Drama Program Relaunch Supports Artistic Exploration in Questa

  • Local Champion: Questa Independent School District
  • Date Funded: November 18, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $7,200

Questa schools have a long history of providing students with high-quality, culturally relevant performing arts programming. However, following the height of the COVID-19 pandemic (and the retirement of several key staff members), the curtain fell on the district’s extracurricular drama and music programs. Almost five years later—with a growing number of students, staff, and community volunteers expressing interest in reviving the program—a local teacher reached out to LOR for help to cover the costs associated with a relaunch.

LOR’s support will fund travel and attendance fees to expose students to professional performances in Albuquerque, subsidize workshops by guest instructors, and help promote the district’s revitalized program.
