Cortez Launches a Special Olympics Program to Connect Adults with Special Needs

Organized physical activity for adults with special needs is limited in Cortez, but one local volunteer coach came up with a plan to help by launching a full Special Olympics programs in Cortez with practices and intramural games between local teams and individuals. LOR’s funding will help support the purchase of uniforms and equipment, giving adults with special needs the opportunity to exercise as a group, build relationships, increase teamwork, and engage in healthy living.
