An Illuminated Sign Connects Buffalo Residents with Emergency Services

Since relocating to a new facility, the Johnson County Rural Health Care District, which operates Buffalo’s EMS, has been difficult for residents to find—community members, EMTs in training, and visitors alike have struggled to identify the building, particularly after hours or during emergencies. Recognizing this gap, one board member and an EMS leader reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help the Johnson County Rural Health Care District purchase materials, electrical work, machine rental, and labor to construct and install a permanent, illuminated exterior sign on the west side of the facility. The sign will provide a clear, visible marker, strengthening public access to emergency services and the district’s educational events.
