A Student Success Center Prepares Cortez Students to Thrive

  • Local Champion: Montezuma-Cortez School District RE-1
  • Date Funded: July 28, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $9,484

Montezuma-Cortez High School is expanding its educational offerings to include a blended learning program that combines in-person and virtual coursework, giving students more flexibility in how they pursue their education. But the school’s blended students currently have no dedicated study spaces or power access inside the high school. One M-CHS staff member had a solution, so they reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will help Montezuma-Cortez High School purchase three single workstations and two power towers for the high school library, creating a dedicated blended learning space where students can complete online coursework, participate in virtual meetings, and connect with classmates and teachers in person. The new “Student Success Center” will support students pursuing credit recovery, college coursework, and flexible learning pathways, ensuring Cortez students have the environment and resources they need to thrive.
