Teen Entrepreneur Program Gives Lander Students Real-World Business Experience

  • Local Champion: Project Carpe Diem
  • Date Funded: September 15, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $9,728

In Lander, motivated teens have shown strong interest in entrepreneurship through elementary and middle school business fairs, but recent cuts have eliminated access to advanced business education opportunities. When one local mom and business owner saw her daughter’s entrepreneurship course blocked by funding issues, she reached out to LOR with a plan to create a comprehensive 32-week Teen Entrepreneur Master Program. The program will guide students through actually launching their own businesses, featuring instruction from local business professionals, hands-on experience with real-world tools like Shopify and business planning software, and culminating in pitch showcases where students present their ventures. All sessions will be recorded to create a permanent digital resource for future students, ensuring the program’s impact extends beyond the initial cohort. LOR’s funding will cover curriculum materials, professional subscriptions, audio-visual equipment for content creation, and celebratory events, making the entire program free for participating teens while building lasting educational resources for the community.
