Taos Arts and Culture Community Addresses Lack of Inclusivity

  • Local Champion: Downtown Taos
  • Date Funded: October 26, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $7,000

While Taos is home to many different cultures and races, organizations in the arts community do not reflect the diversity of the community—leading to underrepresentation for many groups. Several residents who have been involved in the arts began thinking about ways to address the issue last year, and they brought 12 organizations together to collaborate. Ultimately, they identified the need for training in each organization to address their lack of diversity and implement new strategies to increase inclusivity. Funding from the LOR Foundation will help pay for consultants to lead these trainings.
