Questa Combats Teacher Burnout With Staff Oasis Room

  • Local Champion: Questa PTO
  • Date Funded: April 1, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $10,000

Questa educators have been experiencing burnout and fatigue over the past five years due to COVID-19, administration changes (over the past five years the district has been through seven different superintendents), and teaching both virtually and in-person. The district lost about 30 students to neighboring schools due to the disruptions in classroom settings. To combat this stress and help Questa teachers be at their best for students, educators came up with a potential solution: Create two rooms where teachers can experience a low-stress environment in a high-stress place to boost teacher morale and allow them to return to the classroom refreshed and better able to meet the needs of students. LOR’s funding will help support the purchase of equipment to create these staff oases.

This project is fiscally sponsored by Kristi Gonzales Ministries INC.
