New Uniforms Keep Libby’s Honor Guard in Service to the Community

  • Local Champion: American Legion Post 97 Honor Guard
  • Date Funded: February 7, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $11,400

Libby’s Honor Guard is an essential part of the community—they lead parades, volunteer, provide graveside services, and more. In 2022 alone, members of the Honor Guard conducted nine military honors funeral services and contributed to 76 community projects totaling 438 hours of service. But all this activity has taken its toll on the Honor Guard’s uniforms, which have become tattered over the busy years. With that in mind, a member of the guard approached the LOR Foundation for help purchasing new threads. The Libby Honor Guard was able to purchase new summer and winter uniforms for all of its members, an effort that will keep some of  Libby’s most distinguished residents in action for years to come.

This project was fiscally sponsored by the Montana Community Foundation
