A Free Indoor Play Space Connects Cortez Families

Cortez families with young children have few free indoor spaces where children can play and parents and caregivers can connect and build community. After experiencing this gap firsthand as a new mom, one local resident came up with a solution: launch Gather & Grow, a free indoor play and socialization space for Cortez families. LOR’s funding will help Gather & Grow purchase indoor toys and activities, furniture and storage, safety supplies, and an outdoor play and shade structure. LOR’s funding will also cover advertising, workshops, and classes—including lactation consultation and postpartum yoga—giving families a consistent, no-cost space to play, learn, and build relationships.
