Light and Sound Equipment Puts Weiser Students in the Spotlight

  • Local Champion: Snake River Heritage Center
  • Date Funded: May 19, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $10,000

The Snake River Heritage Center serves as a venue for performances and community events, but aging lighting and sound equipment limits the quality of productions and prevents students from learning modern theater skills. A longtime volunteer wanted to teach Weiser youth the technical side of the performing arts, so she reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help the Snake River Heritage Center purchase a professional lighting console and six wireless microphone systems to enhance productions and launch a hands-on technical training program for students. The equipment will improve performances for the many community groups that use the space while giving Weiser youth valuable skills in lighting design and sound operation.
