Flooring Restores Libby’s VFW Hall After Disaster

  • Local Champion: VFW Post 1548
  • Date Funded: May 29, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $29,600

Libby’s VFW hall serves as one of the community’s most active gathering spaces, hosting veteran programming, civic meetings, fundraising dinners, and free community meals. After flooding and extreme wind caused widespread damage in Libby earlier this year, the hall stepped up as a water distribution point, but the weight of water pallets significantly damaged the flooring, creating safety hazards that now threaten the hall’s continued use. The local VFW commander had a plan to restore the hall while unlocking additional restoration funding from a local disaster recovery fund. LOR’s funding helped Libby’s VFW Post 1548 purchase new vinyl flooring, enabling a complete floor restoration that will keep this vital community space safe and accessible for veterans and residents alike.

This project is fiscally sponsored by Libby Area Community Advancement.
