Expanded Theater Program Brings All Aspects of Drama to Lander Youth

  • Local Champion: Wyoming Shakespeare Festival Company
  • Date Funded: June 9, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $8,581

In Lander, there are very few opportunities for residents of all ages to learn about and participate in the many aspects of theater—from acting to set design to costumes. When a community volunteer who had worked alongside the Wyoming Shakespeare Festival Company founder for years saw the beloved program beginning to fade after the founder’s passing, she decided to step up and expand it. She envisioned honoring the founder’s legacy while offering quality productions focused on all aspects of theater—not just Shakespeare—and creating space for young people interested in costumes and set design alongside actors. She reached out to LOR for support to make her vision happen. LOR’s funding will help purchase props, raw materials, costume racks, and flexible set pieces that will support an expanded summer camp and multiple performances throughout the year, giving Lander residents of all interests and ages the chance to discover their passion in theater.
