After-School Tutoring Boosts Academic Success for Taos Elementary Students

  • Local Champion: Embudo Valley Tutoring Association
  • Date Funded: March 3, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $5,300

Students at Arroyos del Norte Elementary are struggling to meet proficiency standards in math and literacy, requiring additional support beyond regular classroom instruction. When parents expressed concern about their children’s academic progress, the school’s staff and leadership team identified a solution: incorporate free targeted tutoring into their successful after-school program. In need of support, they reached out to LOR. LOR’s funding will help the Embudo Valley Tutoring Association and Arroyos del Norte hire a qualified tutor to work closely with teaching staff, creating personalized intervention plans while making tutoring services available to all elementary students regardless of family resources.
