A Snowblower Keeps Libby’s Food Pantry Open During Winter

  • Local Champion: Libby Food Pantry
  • Date Funded: September 25, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $1,241

The Libby Food Pantry serves dozens of families every week, but heavy snowfall creates dangerous conditions for the elderly volunteers who must shovel walkways, loading areas, and paths to outdoor food kiosks. One pantry volunteer wanted to protect both staff and visitors from winter hazards, so she reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help the Libby Food Pantry purchase a battery-powered snow blower with extra batteries. The equipment will allow elderly volunteers to quickly clear pathways without the physical strain of shoveling, ensuring food pantry services remain accessible throughout the winter months.
