Backstop Padding Protects Weiser Softball Players

  • Local Champion: Weiser High School Athletics
  • Date Funded: March 30, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $4,862

Weiser High School softball players risk injury when catching foul balls or retrieving pitches near the current backstop because it lacks protective padding. One softball coach recognized the safety hazard and wanted to better protect players, so she reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help Weiser School District 431 purchase backstop padding and windscreen material to cover exposed metal poles and prevent rocks from entering the field, improving safety and play for Weiser’s high school athletes.
