A Monument Celebrates Libby’s Logging Heritage

  • Local Champion: A Libby local
  • Date Funded: May 15, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $2,800

Libby’s timber industry played a foundational role in building the community’s identity and economy, but there is no large-scale public monument to honor the loggers who shaped the community. One local volunteer wanted to fill this gap, so he came up with the idea to commission a large heritage monument along Libby’s main highway. LOR’s funding helped a local contractor fabricate and install the monument celebrating the loggers who built Libby, giving residents and visitors a lasting, tangible connection to the community’s heritage.

This project is fiscally sponsored by Libby Area Community Advancement.
