A Mobile Hot Dog Cart Helps One Libby Group Retain Volunteers

  • Local Champion: Lincoln County Unite for Youth
  • Date Funded: April 25, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $9,650

Each year volunteers with Lincoln County Unite for Youth selflessly give their most precious commodity: their time. But often, they’re asked to do more. Lincoln County Unite for Youth supports many community events throughout the year, and volunteers frequently have use their own equipment and personal vehicles. For many events, volunteers have to drive back and forth to multiple locations for supplies. In some cases, they’ve even had to bring their own grills to events. The extra burden was weighing on the group’s volunteers, causing multiple volunteers to take a step back. One staff member had an idea that would solve the problem, so she reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will help Lincoln County Unite for Youth buy a trailer and a mobile hot dog and hamburger cart, allowing volunteers to focus their time on what matters: the Libby community.
