A Micropantry Provides Food for Libby Families

Libby’s main food pantry operates just one day per week, leaving many residents without the food they need by week’s end. Every day one local volunteer with the Libby Job Service saw families coming in worried about their next meal, so she came up with a solution to help more families access food. LOR’s funding helped the resident launch a micropantry outside the Libby Job Service, providing ready-to-go meal kits for anyone who needs them. The micropantry will supplement and partner with the Libby Food Pantry, ensuring Libby’s most vulnerable residents don’t fall through the cracks.
