Trailer and Generator Expand Field Learning Opportunities for Questa Students

  • Local Champion: Questa Independent School District
  • Date Funded: February 18, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $8,997

Questa students have had limited access to fully supported outdoor learning due to challenges transporting instructional materials and providing on-site power for equipment in remote areas. This has reduced opportunities for hands-on science, environmental education, and career-connected learning.

When school district leaders realized that logistical barriers were preventing field trips to places like Wild Rivers for nighttime astronomy, they contacted LOR with a solution.

LOR’s funding will assist the Questa Independent School District in purchasing a utility trailer and portable generator to safely transport materials and ensure reliable power for tools, technology, and demonstration equipment in remote locations. This practical investment will allow multiple grade levels to regularly participate in experiential outdoor learning, expanding access to real-world educational environments throughout the district for years to come.
