Soccer Goals Keep the Fun Going at Cortez’s Kemper Elementary

  • Local Champion: Kemper Elementary PTO
  • Date Funded: April 11, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $6,150

Many students at Cortez’s Kemper Elementary School enjoy playing soccer during recess. But the school’s current setup is far from adequate. Kemper Elementary doesn’t have soccer goals, so students use the playground fence. More often than not, they end up kicking balls over the fence and into surrounding yards where neighbors will sometimes throw the balls back but often won’t. One Kemper Elementary student reached out to LOR with the help of his mom. His solution? Purchase soccer goals. LOR’s funding will help the student and Kemper Elementary’s parent-teacher organization purchase two sets of goals, a storage shed, and 72 new soccer balls, helping keep the fun on the field.
