Performance-Tracking Tools Maximize the Potential of Cortez Student-Athletes

  • Local Champion: A Cortez local
  • Date Funded: October 16, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $7,359

Cortez high school athletes and coaches lack access to modern performance-tracking tools that can help athletes train effectively, measure progress, and demonstrate their abilities to college programs. Seeing an opportunity to maximize the potential of Cortez’s student-athletes, one local trainer and volunteer football coach came up with a solution: equip Montezuma-Cortez High School athletic programs with timing, measurement, and strength systems that provide objective data. LOR’s funding will help the coach and Montezuma-Cortez High School purchase speed and agility equipment, plyo boxes, medicine balls, Android tablets, and YAP Training platform memberships—giving football and basketball student-athletes access to tools that support safer training, measurable improvement, and broader collegiate opportunity.

This project is fiscally sponsored by Onward! A Legacy Foundation.
