A Stock Trailer Equips Libby’s Lincoln County Animal Shelter to Expand Services

The Lincoln County Animal Shelter in Libby has expanded its services to include neglected and abandoned horses, cattle, and other livestock, but staff and volunteers lack the equipment to transport large animals safely—delaying care and creating risk for workers and animals alike. One shelter supporter reached out to LOR with a solution: purchase a stock trailer to safely move seized and rescued livestock to veterinary appointments, temporary housing, and partnering shelters. LOR’s funding will help the Lincoln County Animal Shelter purchase a stock trailer and cover wrap and decal services. The trailer will reduce the need for improvised transportation, lower handling stress for animals, and give staff and volunteers a dedicated, reliable resource for standard transports and emergency seizure responses.
