Seniors in Libby Benefit From Access to Computers and Technology Training

  • Local Champion: Area VI Agency on Aging
  • Date Funded: September 18, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $4,999

Many senior citizens in Libby do not have access to a computer, and many wouldn’t know how to use one if they did. This limits their ability to maintain independence and be connected—particularly in case of an emergency. A program manager at the Area VI Agency on Agency has been looking for ways to train seniors in the community and offer them access to technology. The manager hoped to create a comprehensive computer workstation program, and she reached out to the LOR Foundation, which helped the organization purchase a computer, office equipment, and advertisements in the local papers notifying folks of the new program. LOR’s support will also pay a stipend for two student trainers to assist seniors.
