Storage Helps a Cortez Food Pantry Serve More Families

  • Local Champion: St. Barnabas Episcopal Church
  • Date Funded: October 15, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $4,500

As food insecurity increases in Cortez, Grace’s Kitchen has encountered obstacles that make it harder to serve a growing number of community members. One kitchen volunteer who experienced the challenges firsthand reached out to LOR with a solution: expand storage and strengthen the soup kitchen’s emergency preparedness. LOR’s funding will help Grace’s Kitchen purchase a commercial freezer, stainless steel shelving, large food can dispensers, and an AED. Together, these investments will allow Grace’s Kitchen to store more food, serve more residents, and maintain a safer environment for the volunteers who make it all possible.
