New Technology Minimizes Disruptions to Local News Coverage in Questa

  • Local Champion: Questa Economic Development Fund
  • Date Funded: November 19, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $7,000

Many Questa residents rely on Questa del Rio News for information and updates on local issues. However, as the new outlet’s staff and scope have grown, their shortage of up-to-date technology has resulted in disruptions to local news access and negatively impacted the team’s ability to efficiently and reliably report on important topics. So, two QDRN staff members reached out to LOR with an idea: purchase updated technology to eliminate interruptions to the creation and distribution of content that directly affects the Questa community and its residents (especially live-streamed events).

LOR’s funding will cover the cost of two new computers with editing software, a laptop, tripods, and two new smartphones to capture photos and video in real-time.
