Community Information Boards and Engagement Expertise Boost Weiser Community Events

Weiser’s nonprofits, community organizations, and businesses invest real effort in community events, including through social media, newspapers, and flyers. But persistent awareness gaps leave many gatherings with far fewer attendees than organizers planned for. After hearing from local groups that wanted to get residents more involved, one board member of the Friends of the Weiser Chamber of Commerce reached out to LOR with a solution: hire a community engagement expert and create a centralized source for event information. LOR’s funding will help the Friends of the Weiser Chamber of Commerce contract an engagement specialist to conduct surveys, host community gatherings, and lead a public luncheon to give Weiser organizations the knowledge and tools to reach residents more effectively. LOR’s funding will also help the Friends of the Weiser Chamber purchase and install two information boards, strengthening community connection and participation.
