New Body Armor Protects Monte Vista Police Officers

  • Local Champion: City of Monte Vista
  • Date Funded: September 17, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $22,265

Monte Vista Police Department officers are currently using outdated and expired body armor that no longer meets national safety standards, putting them at increased risk during emergency responses and high-risk situations. Recognizing the critical need to prioritize officer safety, department leadership reached out to LOR for support to replace this essential protective equipment.

With funding from LOR, the department will purchase new soft and hard body armor for all 13 officers, providing comprehensive protection during routine patrols and tactical operations. This upgrade will significantly enhance officer safety and operational readiness while reinforcing public safety for Monte Vista residents by equipping their police force with reliable, up-to-date protection in every emergency.
