Locals Start Conversations About Housing in Libby

  • Local Champion: Christ Lutheran Church
  • Date Funded: October 17, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $5,000

While housing resources exist in Libby, there are serious gaps in connecting people with helpful tools and organizations. It’s a dynamic that has led to an increase in housing emergencies, as 40 percent of the local population does not own their home and an increasing number of residents are facing homelessness. After spending time with folks who are housing insecure, one Libby resident had an idea for pooling resources and hosting a forum of volunteers and organizations who can contribute to the conversation. With the LOR Foundation’s help, local groups will come together to have a conversation about improving housing access in Libby. LOR’s funding helped purchase meeting supplies and place ads in three local papers.
