Fans Help Cortez Residents Focus on Recovery

  • Local Champion: Silver Lining Recovery Homes
  • Date Funded: July 23, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $4,064

For those living at Cortez’s Silver Lining Recovery Homes, the environment should feel safe and comfortable, but aging ceiling fans and overgrown trees have created ongoing concerns for residents. Hoping to better protect residents and keep them cool during hot, dry summers, the founder of Cortez’s only men’s recovery home came up with a solution. LOR’s funding helped Silver Lining Recovery Homes purchase and install seven ceiling fans in bedrooms and shared community spaces and contract professional tree trimming to reduce the risk of falling trees during windstorms. The improvements will reduce safety hazards, provide relief from the desert heat, and sustain a supportive environment where residents can focus on their recovery journeys.

This project is fiscally sponsored by PiƱon Project.
