Learning Tools Expand After-School Opportunities for Libby Youth

  • Local Champion: South 40 4-H Club
  • Date Funded: February 13, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $29,677

Libby lacks structured after-school and summer educational programs for youth, leaving children with limited opportunities to learn hands-on skills during out-of-school hours. To fill this gap, the leader of the local 4-H club wanted to create and expand free workshops and camps teaching livestock management, archery, sewing, STEM, and other practical skills. She reached out to LOR for help getting them off the ground. LOR’s funding will help South 40 4-H purchase educational aids including livestock training simulators, archery targets, sewing machines, cooking equipment, and robotics kits. The equipment will enable teen mentors and adult volunteers to teach free year-round workshops and camps, providing Libby youth with knowledge and skills they can take with them the rest of their lives.
