Lander Gives Girls Early Athletic Exposure by Launching a Youth Volleyball Program

  • Local Champion: Lander local
  • Date Funded: April 19, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $5,128

Girls in Lander, Wyoming, have few sports opportunities available to them until seventh grade, when they’re offered through middle school. This means girls don’t have a chance to develop their skills from an early age. Seeing this gap, a group of local volunteers wanted to start a volleyball program for girls in elementary school. They just needed a little help with equipment costs to launch the program. LOR’s funding will help support the purchase of volleyballs, nets, uniforms, and other training equipment.

This project is fiscally sponsored by the Lander Community Foundation
