Lander Builds Bridges Between Generations With Monthly Swing Dances

  • Local Champion: Lander Senior Citizens Center
  • Date Funded: June 28, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $4,520

A sizable number of Lander residents—from teens to seniors—have expressed in interest in swing dancing. Problem is, there are no venues providing dancing to this music in Fremont County. So one local volunteer came up with an idea to host affordable swing dances at the senior center as a way to help bring residents of all ages together. The dances would be hosted one evening each month and supported by other community groups and locals. LOR’s funding will help pay for live music (WyoJazz) and refreshments at nine dances, as well as marketing materials.
